In addition to the substation building, Hamilton Steel’s scope of work also included the construction of a bespoke steel structure for the P&C control room. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as the nerve centre for overseeing and managing the distribution of electrical power throughout the Teesside Freeport.
The control room will be equipped with sophisticated monitoring systems and control technologies, enabling operators to maintain a stable and efficient power supply to the various industrial and commercial entities located within the Freeport.
SeAH Wind’s Teesworks project is a major milestone in the UK’s offshore wind industry. When completed, the £400 million Teesworks monopile production facility will be the world’s largest of its kind, creating hundreds of direct jobs and supporting thousands more in the local supply chain.
