Cold rolled steel building installation

After the successful construction of two previous steel structures on the site, Cornish Metals LTD contracted our team to carry out another full steel build of a bespoke cold-rolled steel building in one of the largest mining facilities in the UK.
The Canadian miner has plans in place to give Cornwall’s South Crofty Mine a second lease of life. The mine was shut down in 1998 after 400 years of continuous production. The mine historically produced around 450,000 tonnes of tin between 1700 and 1997. The dewatering of the mine is scheduled to take place over the course of the next 18 months, as part of the renovation plans that have been in place since 2016. Cornish Metals expects the mine to resume production in 2026.
This is the third steel building we have built on the premises for the project. We have previously provided them with two cold rolled steel buildings, one for the switchgear on the premises and another to be used as part of the water treatment plant. We provided a full turnkey solution for our client, managing the entire project from the initial site survey to the cladding installation to adding steelwork accessories. For this project we succeeded in meeting our clients’ expectations, providing them with the required installation that was expertly designed and constructed in compliance with industry standards.
