Installing a bespoke utility workshop
Due to upgrades to their site, we were contracted by Essity UK Ltd to design and install a new bespoke utility workshop on their premises.
As part of the works, we designed a 200mm reinforced over slab that would be fixed and dowelled to the existing concrete floor slab. Due to the ground levels, we had to factor in entrance ramps for forklift access as well as fit-for-purpose access to the PA doors.
We conducted in-depth groundwork analysis, taking into account drainage and piling requirements. The groundworks team worked through the night to ensure that the concrete finish was power-floated perfectly for our client before the installation of the structure.
The weather had a significant impact on this project, particularly on the installation element. With gusts of wind up to 60 mph, our steel workers Simon, Adam, Callum and Nathan had to ensure that the sequence of works were followed precisely to provide a stable and durable structure.
The installation was a success thanks to our team’s commitment to quality.
